No. In North Carolina only you, a licensed public adjuster, or an attorney can negotiate a claim. A contractor doing the repair is not allowed to act as your adjuster. What we do is document the damage and price the work. Any contractor who offers to handle the claim for you is offering something they are not licensed to do.
